A homegrown England forward, the guy who was the face of the club, is now the thing you toss in to knock money off a midfielder. When your own academy star becomes loose change in somebody else's deal, he's already gone in the building's head. Rashford leaves United before this window shuts, and they take the hit to do it.
Watch what Fulham are quietly doing. They're in advanced talks to prise two kids out of Real Madrid, Gonzalo Garcia, 22, who scored 4 in 6 at last summer's Club World Cup, and Cesar Palacios, 21. Young, real ceilings, bought before anyone outside Madrid has clocked them. That is how a club with no oil money actually gets better, not by renting one big name. This double raid does more for Fulham's season than a marquee signing ever would.

My Angels just sold two 26-year-olds they controlled for years, Logan O'Hoppe and Chase Silseth, for one 19-year-old in Single-A who isn't even a top-30 prospect. Taysom Hill's nine years in New Orleans are done, and I loved what that guy was: the only player in the Super Bowl era with a thousand career yards passing, rushing and receiving. A walking dare. But he's 35, camps are opening, and his phone isn't ringing. His 2025 was 114 rushing yards all season, and the only team even floated is Denver, which is Sean Payton being loyal, not the market bidding. If he plays at all, it's a flier, not a role.
